The Future of Oops! I Banged My Mom’s Bully

Alright, so I reached the point where incest with the mother is an inevitability. Originally, I never planned this novel to have incest, and although I’ve asked in the past and found people interested in it, as I include more and more of it, I’ve found myself at a bit of an impasse. To put it simply, I’m just not feeling it.

This made me think back to the very beginning of this novel, and I realized I made a mistake. Instead of having a mom, stepdad, and stepsister where he seduces the mom and stepsister, I realized that the novel would benefit (IMHO) with a major rewrite making it his biodad and the mom being a stepmother with her own son.

In this version of the story, his dad married his mom, but became jealous of his own son, causing him to become largely impotent. This leads the stepmother sexually frustrated, and even though she was cold and distant to Lucas and favored her own child (renamed Carl for the sake of continuity), she eventually succumbs along with the other women. She’d naturally fill the roles in the story the sister filled. Carl would also play a role as his bully, making his mom’s fall more in line with the title and theme of the story.

Most of the scenes not involving family would play out exactly the same, with some chapters not being changed at all. However, it would change some things, for example Ms. Barnett’s drivethrough scene… I think the character that might see the biggest change outside the family would be Mrs. Conner, whose original role was an ex of the father. She’s instead would have been in love with the mother, and see Lucas as her ability to live out the sexual fantasies with her friend with Lucas who has the right equipment.

Anyway, that’s about it. This is a major rewrite, so it might take a month or so to accomplish. Naturally, I can either just switch like ripping off a bandaid, or keep the old version alongside the new version. However, only one version will I continue to write to the finale, so at some point I will have to decide. I guess what I’m looking for is to see how many people are stuck on the old idea versus eager to jump ship on the new idea. I know a lot of people will want to select “just do both”, but we are talking about months of release. It might affect the release of the progression of the story, so if you really like the original and just want to see it done, or are on the fence, not doing it is way less work than doing it. On the other hand, from a creative writer point of view, I feel these changes would lead to a better, more cohesive story overall. Ultimately, if I felt strongly enough one way or the other, I wouldn’t be asking, so don’t try to pick what you think I wanted, because if I was decided, I wouldn’t need to ask.

Thanks!
