Here we are in February. Tomorrow is my birthday. I’ll have off 1-7^th as per my contract. I’ll probably keep this short.

*I did get the big annual survey out. I’m still trying to get people to take it. Only 38 people have taken it so far. There is 400 of you on this newsletter list. Come on, guys. I make decisions off this. Decisions that affect your reading!

*Speaking of big decisions, I think I’ve decided to stop doing the Premium Poll. I’m going to focus more on Sponsor chapters. Keeping Up/Catching Up with Premium chapters has just been a slog, and with so few people even doing the weekly surveys, let alone seemingly noticing the extra work, I think it just isn’t a good advantage. If you are in the $10 tier, it’s probably not because of premium chapters.

*On the other side, I would like to ramp up sponsorship chapters a bit more. A) getting them done reliably, and B) I want to change the system a bit. Right now, I have a weird divide between $10 and $15 tier, where one side donates to see the chapters, and the other side see the chapter automatically and donates to get the next chapter. So, here is my new idea:

Give tiers a credit system. This combines the free eBooks with sponsorship chapters. So, $15 tier gets $5 in credit, ie, you can either buy an eBook or unlock a sponsor chapters. $25 gets $10 so they can get two. $50 get $25 so they can unlock up to 5 or pay for half a chapter, and $100 gets $50, which allows them to buy up to 10 eBooks or sponsors, or buy outright a sponsor every month. That way, if you don’t want to buy eBooks or I’m not releasing them, you can use that toward a different way. It also means everyone’s on the same plan, not seeing the newest chapter unless you sponsor it.

Anyway, Koko is working on that, so look forward to it.

*Koko is also working on a Patreon/Subscribestar button mark 2. This one will hopefully work better than the last. It won’t have that weird blackout period at the end of the month, and if done correctly, won’t force you to resync every month (although, I’m still floored I have people complaining about that, I’d consider resyncing once a month to be the bare minimum expectation, but I digress)

*I will be getting surgery on the 26^th. Probably might need a few days off. I have off of school during the time, but it probably won’t lead to any more releases.

*End of March… big break, so April might be a good month of releases for me. I don’t anticipate anything else changing too much before then.
