Gotta love Calypso at this point she has to have a soul world that is starting to take shape into its own world or a dungeon like that that maybe in another twenty or thirty thousand years it may start life.
Hmmmm … Okay didn’t entirely suprise me calypso was there but the demons holding the line all these years was a twist … I thought it was the deep holding twilight at bay but it looks like that was the 2nd line of defence
i suspect the deep is as you suggest- something that happened after twilight started enroaching on the demon dungeon – i suspect the result of the demon king’s first effort of defence failed, twilight was winning, then the deep dwarves ‘cut the cord’ so to speak buying yet more time.
what these chapters reaffirmed for me at least is that Calypso is genuinely terrible at (or perhaps not interested in) making good decisions
Ohhh god… Calypso, I feel like she is in somesort a alternate Deek, their choices are similar, their behavior at times is uncanniely similar, as for motivations not sure but she really has been around for a long ass time and also seems to pull a f*ck ton of strings in the background, need to reread some chapters again for the full experience, the split deek volume 10, was a story line I kind of forgot intirelly and also think I disliked.
Also Dick coming back to bite him… might also be a possibility, would be really tragic if he ended up bringing down Calypso
