I have faith in Lord Deekson to one find a way to either suppress or balance Twilight. I also love the mystique of Calypso her lore is old and wide spread; I like to think of her as the Deek of the past. She was summoned for a cause (Deek was brought by a game disc who was behind it, why did it occur, what purpose is he really to serve) they both have fragments moving in their own way, both having many faults and failures, but the main difference is how their experiences have shaped them. Deek was bullied back on earth but on Gaia he had the chance to be someone new and to see the magic and grow with trial and error. While Calypso was brought in for War and was driven/forced into a lot of unlikeable situations which probably warped her perspective and creativity. So Deek while semi unmoving towards the latest trend with his old world peeps has always shown a fair chance and opportunity to be better than just violence. He looks for a more civil solution than just pure destruction which I think has been seen by Calypso as a ray of hope she might have banked on as a century long shot of someone coming in that is more pure in spirit. She mentioned creating a new mana stream since Gaia is almost done for, and I think Deek’s wild idea’s and creativity will somehow form that new stream not just as a third avenue but maybe to help rebuild Gaia and heal her to be the balance again.
the problem with healing gaia is that you have to conquer the great labyrinths to get new mana into gaia – all the spells they are using right now are using mana gaia already has and presumably that only weakens her further (or at best just helps her stay as weak as she already is) for as long as the great labrynths are being invaded past thier 100th floor (which most if not all of them have been) then mana will keep bleeding out of gaia until she dies – to fix that you have to push back past the 100th floor of each great labrynth and hold the line for presumably avery long time WHILE keeping twilight’s invasion contained so that gaia can regain enough strength to heal the injury the fae weapon caused and re-unite with twilight without one half dominating the other.
from the descriptions we got of calypso’s soul it’s…falling apart at the seams… it’s mostly misasmic (like half of deek was when he was cut in half) i’m interested to learn the implications of that but calypso as we’ve seen her is basically a dungeon mob (if i’m remembering rightly)
