Power of Creation - Volume 1 - Chapter 15
It wasn’t long into our flight before Ariel recognized where we were. It was a forest on the border of her nation, so once we oriented ourselves, it was a straight shot to the castle. The flight only took thirty minutes before we landed right in the courtyard of the city.
A dragon flying into the capital city might have caused an uproar. Even the wyvern riders that this world possessed would not have prepared the capital to see a magnificent red dragon flying right at the castle. However, that was resolved with a magic spell. I didn’t know what the magic spell did. I simply composed a spell that would make it so the red dragon wasn’t detected. It might have been an invisibility spell, or some kind of mind block that altered people’s perceptions.
I didn’t know. All I knew was that we were in the castle. Maeko shrank into her human form, and I gave her a kiss on the lips as a thank you. She looked upset that I kissed her, but the blush betrayed her tsundere personality. However, after kissing Maeko, Ariel demanded a kiss too, so I had to give her a thorough one before the three of us could finally head into the castle.
Since guards didn’t usually look for intruders from inside the castle, we met no resistance until we reached the throne room. Before breaking in and causing hell, I decided to listen at the door.
“We haven’t had any luck locating your daughter so far,” a female voice was saying, “But we will widen our-“
There was the sound of a slap and a cry, and then the priest spoke. “You useless twat! My King, let me use the dark magics. I can channel the power of Parthios, and immediately reveal your daughter’s location.”
“Finding my daughter is top priority, I must-“
I got bored of listening, so I pushed open the door and walked in. Ariel and Maeko followed closely behind, worried looks on their faces.
“You! The Heretic has invaded the castle!” The priest shouted.
“Never talk again!” I snapped, waving a white light.
It struck the priest before he could react. He glared at me and opened his mouth, but a moment later he realized no sound came out. Confused, he started trying to speak, but as the words were completely absent, he settled for glaring angrily.
“Ariel, my daughter!” The queen shouted, trying to race forward to her.
The King blocked her advances. “Hold back, woman! Keep your distance. Don’t you see he’s done something to her? Her body is different and she’s wearing some kind of twisted demon outfit.”
“Hey, I think that outfit’s kind of hot.” I defended it.
“You… you kidnapped my daughter, now you have penetrated my throne room. What is it you want?”
“Your throne room isn’t the only thing I penetrated.” I laughed.
Ariel blushed, but moved up to my arm and held it in hers, putting her body against me.
“Y-you…”
While the King was stunned to silence, it was the priest who started running towards me. As if by instinct, Ariel shoved me out of the way. A moment later, a dagger slipped out of his robe and he stabbed forward. The blade struck into Ariel.
The King and Queen shouted in horror as blood gushed from her stomach and mouth. She turned to me as blood dripped down her chin. She mouthed the words that sounded like ‘I love you’, and then she collapsed to the ground dead.
