My Dungeon Life – Chapter 1686-1688
Chapter 1686
“So, ultimately, that’s what happened and this is my daughter.”
Matty was placed on floor five for the moment and laying low, and I had come to think about things carefully. In the end, I couldn’t deny that she was my daughter. I had created her in more ways than one, and that meant that I needed to take responsibility as her father. I just wasn’t sure how I was going to break this to Eliana. I hadn’t told her about the soul copy. I didn’t want to get her hopes up until I was sure what I was going to do, and it seemed like fate had taken my choice away from me forcefully.
Thus, the only option was to introduce her to the rest of the girls. I summoned them all to my dungeon and ultimately introduced them to my girl.
“Hello, mommies, please take care of me.” She bowed extremely politely.
“I knew it!” Celeste cried out. “Why didn’t anyone tell me I was pregnant?”
“Celeste, you weren’t pregnant!” Terra snapped.
“Then why am I a mommy?” Celeste shot back.
Terra’s mouth flapped open. She didn’t have an answer for that.
“You’re all my mommy. Terra is my mommy too.”
“I-I’m a mommy?” Terra’s golem face still managed to give a stunned look.
“Am I your mommy?” Shao asked excitedly.
“Of course.”
Shao put her hands on her chest, her eyes growing misty. “I’m a mommy…”
They weren’t acting as I expected. Rather than taking it in stride like the three older women, they all seemed to be deeply affected by the word mommy. They were all giving my daughter adoring looks, and some of them even cried happily. They finally ran up and all started giving her hugs and kisses, talking excitedly, and asking her questions. Seeing them all fretting over my daughter gave me a somewhat peaceful feeling.
It made me wonder how they would react if I brought home a baby. This girl would never become a baby though, so I missed that opportunity. There might still be a chance. There was still Raissa. She should be around four months pregnant and showing. I wanted to find her soon. I just still didn’t have any hints on where she had run off to.
While the girls were acting playfully with my daughter, and I was deep in thought, my daughter suddenly jumped up.
“Invasion!”
“Hmm?”
At that point, the door to the boss room erupted open and enemies started to flow in. They were a bunch of paladins, stunning me greatly. the girls had immediately gotten into fighting positions, facing off against the line of paladins, but they didn’t charge forward. Instead, they stood at attention.
As for how they made it that far, the dungeon didn’t have any defenses currently, and so anyone who entered it could theoretically make their way down without being stopped. Most dungeons started under constant attack, so they protected themselves and lashed out at enemies. However, my dungeon just formed her consciousness, and she hadn’t even seen these guys as enemies. They had used my daughter’s naivety to take advantage of her! Just who did these guys think they were entering my daughter without permission. That was bad phrasing. I didn’t mean that.
However, before I could start slaughtering them all, a small girl came walking out from the crowd of paladins who had lined up. I immediately recognized her annoying little form.
“The existence of this dungeon is in violation the church edict! As the presiding Prelate, I order this dungeon to be eradicated!” Anne declared.
Chapter 1687
“Anne, what are you doing here?” I demanded, feeling somewhat annoyed at both her appearance and her attitude.
“I heard that Chalm was without a proper church.” Anne sniffed. “I naturally brought some of my missionaries to establish a proper church in this wilderness. You may thank me later.”
“I kept a church from being established here for good reason.” I frowned. “Besides, don’t you predominately function in the south?”
“This area hasn’t been claimed by that cow church yet, so I’m claiming it in the name of the daughter!” She responded proudly. “However, right after coming to town, I felt a great miasmic disturbance. To think that you were interacting with a filthy dungeon. I am forgiving, however. As long as you allow me to purify this dungeon and fund the building of a proper cathedral rivaling that palace I saw on the way in, then I will forgive this trespass.”
“So, irritating,” I grumbled. “Ladies, kick these people out of my city.”
“You would dare incite the church?” Her eyes widened in shock and her men pulled out their weapons.
“Master, it may not be a great idea to immediately offend either branch of the church.” Carmine cut in.
“You’re defending them?”
“Of course, listen to that cow lady!” Anne crossed her arms proudly.
Carmine’s cheek twitched, but she turned to me with a pleading look. “The church in its current state may seem strange to you, but it has always been a major power in the south. It was the power that ultimately defeated the fey and the same power that has kept back the demons all of these years. The Imperial Cloud Meadow and the church are nearly run unilaterally in the north, and you know how powerful they are. Even the king of Aberis and the tribes of the Ost Republic know to treat the churches with respect.”
Carmine had been raised by the church, so it wasn’t that surprising that she would ultimately defend it. I wasn’t completely convinced.
“Even so…” I started.
“Having a church would be a major benefit in Chalm as well,” Elaya spoke up.
“You too?”
“However, you may feel about the church, they serve a major purpose in cities. They perform resurrections, job changes, healing, potion-making, marriages, and various other public services that have frankly been lacking in Chalm as we grow larger.” Elaya explained.
“Miki’s spirit clan can do resurrections…” I muttered, although deep down I knew that many of those other things would be difficult for me to set up on my own.
“Although they have accepted their existence, many people are still uneasy with the foxkin and may not seek aid. Furthermore, while resurrection and spiritual repair can be done by the foxkin, there are also more basic healing needs, poisons, petrification, and curses… not all of which are covered by the spiritualist job.”
I sighed. “As useful as a church may be, her terms are unreasonable. When it comes between this dungeon and the church, I’ve made my decision.”
“I see…” Anne’s face darkened. “So, you’d rather pick darkness over the light? I’ve been willing to overlook the karmic contamination in the souls of many of your companions. After all, every dungeon diver eventually gets some darkness in their soul, but to deliberately grow and protect a dungeon like this… I won’t be able to be pol- ah… what?”
As she was speaking, a little girl had walked up to her and tugged on her dress. She was only a head smaller than Anne. I cried out, not having realized when my daughter had moved from behind me.
“Am I no good?” My daughter asked with tears in her eyes.
“Eh? Who are you?” Anne blinked, her eyes looking down at the little girl, and a smile of pleasure immediately forming on her face. “Deek, I see you are still giving proper honor to the daughter, but to bring such a beautiful little girl down into a dungeon, shame on you! Don’t worry, big sis will protect you! I won’t let any harm come to you.”
“Um… she’s the dungeon?”
“Huh?”
Chapter 1688
“I’m the dungeon, and this is my daddy. W-will you really hurt me?” The little girl asked with tears in her eyes.
“How could we possibly hurt you?” One of the paladins cried out.
“She’s so sweet!”
“I want to touch her thighs!”
“Shut up, you’re blowing it!”
Anne’s body shook, and then she reached out and grabbed the girl. All of the girls tensed for a second, but Anne immediately hugged her.
“No, how could the church hurt someone who brings such glory to the daughter? You’re perfect just the way you are. I love you!” As she spoke, she started rubbing her head on my daughter until I started to get annoyed.
“Switch.”
I switched places with my daughter, sending her back to a place of protection. The little girl in Anne’s arms became my legs, and the place she was rubbing her cheek was between my legs. It took her longer than it should have to realize the swap.
“You’re wonderful and perfec – ahhh!” She jumped back, looking up at me with a startled look before dropping her head. “P-pervert.”
“Who’s the pervert?” I demanded and then changed what I was going to say. “So, are you still going to mess with my dungeon?”
She stiffened for a moment as she stood up and brushed herself off. “After careful consideration, I’ve decided to make an exception. Your daughter is a young dungeon, and it appears that she isn’t infected with the distrust, fear, and instincts of a normal dungeon. This means that we have a rare opportunity here to shape her. Since this is the case, the church will take her in and I teach her the difference between right and wrong.
As she spoke, the paladins all leaned forward eagerly, nodding excitedly as they leered at my daughter. Even Anne shot my daughter a fervent look. My daughter gasped, hiding behind some of her mommy’s for protection. The girls were mostly giving the paladin the disgusted looks they deserved. Even Carmine didn’t hide her disdain. I had a feeling that if I let her spend any time with the church, she’d turn out badly.
“Denied.”
“Y-you…”
“Daddy, I don’t like how they’re looking at me.” She declared. “Can I get rid of them?”
“If you want to, daughter.” I immediately gave her a nod and a thumbs up. “Do you want daddy to get rid of them?”
“He’s already doting on his daughter…” Miki sighed.
“Master is already a daughtercon.”
The smile on my face slipped off. It wasn’t like that at all.
“I can do it myself.” She declared. “I’ll just use some of daddy’s lore and create their natural predator.”
She raised her hand, and Anne took a step back, the paladins immediately swarming around her protectively. They started getting a feeling of impending doom that caused them to shiver. Just as the pressure built up to its worst, a middle-aged man suddenly appeared. He was wearing a suit and in his hand was a folder. He walked out right in front of them and then pulled out two chairs, putting them down.
“Why don’t you gentlemen have a seat?” He asked.
The paladins all looked at each other, feeling something was off.
“Please have a seat.”
Something about the chair felt extremely terrifying. It reached a boiling point, and the men all let out shouts.
“Run away!”
“Escape!”
The Paladins fled the room, abandoning Anne behind. As they went up the stairway, there was a sudden siren, and flashing red and blue lights came through the entrance.
“Get on the ground now!”
“We didn’t do anything!”
“Put your hands up.
“You’re going away for a long time, you sick bastards.”
“I was coerced.”
“Please, I have a family.”
“You should have thought of that before.”
The man in the suit stood up, gave a respectful bow, and then walked out the door, shutting the room and cutting off the lights and sound. There was something extremely eerie about the silence that followed. Everyone couldn’t help but gulp. Who said that this dungeon couldn’t defend herself?
Hahahaha 😀
HAHAHAHAHA World of Women colaboration? Oh, no, it’s true…
