My Dungeon Life – Chapter 1719-1721
Chapter 1719
The animalkin girl had suddenly changed her mind, but not before resisting my spin on the narrative. Even I had to admit that our story sounded suspicious. The leader of the rabbitkin soldiers would have had to be an idiot not to at least doubt my story. He looked back and forth between us cautiously, as if he was trying to decide what he was going to do to us. Before he could say anything though, several portals started to open all around us.
The girls I had left behind on the ship all started to emerge from the portals. While many of them could reach the ship with a bit of assistance, most of them weren’t so bold in their abilities as to jump off as Celeste or I had done. That meant that they had to wait for the ship to come to a complete stop before they could join us. To the best of my knowledge, portals were bound to the location, so if you were on a moving ship, then the portal would stay put and the ship would leave it behind in an instant.
Looking up into the sky, I could see that the airship had bridged the distance between us and stopped directly overhead. The sudden appearance of all of these people had caused the soldiers to panic. They let out cries while drawing their weapons hastily. The leader earned his name though, and rather than panicked, he quickly recognized certain women, the most hostile of the group, which made an immediate protective circle around me, and by extension the animalkin girl too.
“Stand down!” He quickly ordered.
Thankfully, although his men were jumping like rabbits, the mounts they were riding, those weird lizard creatures, weren’t nearly as skittish as a horse might be. They hadn’t reared up their heads or fled an inch. As a result, the leader was able to quickly reestablish order.
“What is the meaning of holding up my lord?” First bellowed across the group.
“Th-that’s Roth’s lionesses!” One of the soldiers cried out in alarm.
The leader shot the man who spoke out of turn a rebuking look, but when he turned back to me, his expression had a defeated look. The presence of that girl didn’t matter anymore. Before, they had outnumbered me, and thus even if they respected me a bit, they still had the upper hand in the conversation. In an instant, that had flipped. They were completely outnumbered, and those on the other side were many times more powerful too.
It was clear by their expression that while these men might not recognize any of my girls, they recognized First and the lionesses. They were Roth’s secret service. They didn’t just protect him, but they carried out any major order he needed. They led armies, threatened tribal leaders, and suppressed the country for untold years. Now, they were serving a new master, but their presence still left a stain on the hearts of the rabbitkin who were never that peaceful with the catkin tribe.
It was one thing hearing about a person’s power, but to see that power was something else entirely. The leader of the soldiers could only let out a sigh. There was nothing he could do in this position.
“We made a mistake. It seems like Lord Deekson has all of this covered. We’ll be taking our leave.” He declared before ordering his men away.
Just like that, the conflict ended. Absolute power truly was the way to obtain peace and avoid trouble. That sounded like really dangerous thinking. Had I been influenced too much by absorbing what I did of the Champion’s Gauntlet? I hoped not.
“What’s going on down here then?” Miki asked, looking between e and the cloaked girl suspiciously.
“Master is picking up another girl for his harem.” Celeste declared from my shoulder.
“Eh? Another? Already? This is getting excessive!” Shao cried out.
“You’re not wrong,” Terra added with a pout.
Mary elbowed Anne, whispering in her ear. “If sister wants her chance, she definitely must move more quickly.”
“W-what are you saying?” Anne’s face turned red. “I’m not interested in anything! I just came down because I was curious.”
She turned around and fled back through the portal with a huff. Meanwhile, the stares of all of the girls had caused the animalkin girl to pull on her hood, covering her face further. When she looked up, she nearly jumped as Lydia had appeared right in front of her, giving her typical smile, which was equal parts welcoming and the look of a predatory ready to pounce.
“Hi! I’m Lydia. I want to welcome you on board. What’s your name?”
The girl hesitated for a second before speaking very quietly. “Rea.”
Chapter 1720
The soldiers were gone, so there was nothing to do except to return to the ship. We all entered the portals, and the ship captain, who seemed to be sweating a bit at the sudden stop and everyone departing, got the ship moving again. The captain and crew of the ship were an interesting lot. They seemed to be a diverse group of characters. There was no wolfkin on this ship. After all, it wasn’t Lord Duran’s ship, but a ship sent by the Jespain to his tribe as a one-time favor. That meant that these guys came from Jespain, a culture completely different from our own, and they seemed to like it. First off, they were very quiet and they kept to themselves. That was unless my girls started interacting with them.
They appeared to be humans but they wore a lot of jewelry and had various tattoos. The jewelry included necklaces, bracelets, and ear, lip, nose, and tongue piercings. The tattoos varied, and could sometimes be quite decorative. This seemed to intrigue some of my girls, who were at least a little interested in learning about the piercings and tattoos. When Lydia started asking if she could get down there pierced, I put my foot down and told the girls they couldn’t have any tattoos or piercings. I didn’t like to abuse my position too much, but as a slave master, I did have that right. The girls were a little disappointed, but they quickly lost their interest and left the sailors back to their job.
In general, I didn’t have anything against tattoos or piercings. Salicia had a few piercings, and my body was technically covered in the tattoos leftover from the blessings, although they were thankfully out of sight unless I went to my dungeon store or started to pull mana from their reserves. I just imagined my girls ending up covered in tattoos and piercings, and it destroyed their gentle and innocent auras. However, when I remembered how much fun it was to play with Salicia’s pierced nipples, a small part of me regretted shutting the conversation down completely. How would it be if down there was pierced?
I quickly threw the idea out when I noticed one of the sailors leering at my woman. I didn’t like that at all, but if I made a stink of it, I’d just look like one of those untrusting boyfriends. It may be surprising, but before this point, I had rarely had to deal with people staring at my women. In Chalm, my status and their status as my women was well known. No one became tempted.
As slaves, they were all my property, and noble status also held weight in Aberis. Cuckoldry and adultery were almost nonexistent in Dioshin. It was because of their sense of smell. A man could smell another man on a woman, and it made her much less desirable. There were men like King Roth, alpha’s that monopolized a woman, but they’d rarely take a woman who wasn’t a virgin, as she would be used goods.
I had learned that this was one of the reasons First and the other lionesses hadn’t pushed themselves on me for more than being bodyguards, despite their fairly aggressive attitudes. In their minds, they were soiled goods, having been touched by Roth. From the moment Roth defiled them, their prospects with any other man were very little. Any man who did take a woman who had been with another would be ridiculed in Dioshin. Well, I was an exception being as I wasn’t an animalkin. Taking them in as bodyguards was already enough that I was seen as a merciful man to the Dioshin.
Either way, there was one girl on the airship who was trying to draw the least attention of anyone. That was our newest guest, Rea. She had hidden in a corner shortly after boarding and had spoken minimally to everyone since. My girl’s talks of adding her to my harem had kept me from speaking to her too quickly, but as the sunset and the predominant lights became the continued glow of the Abyss, I decided I should at least try to glean a little bit about her.
Chapter 1721
“Are you from the wolfkin tribe?” I asked, sitting down next to the girl.
It was dark out and other than a few lanterns, the stars, and the Abyss lights, the deck was dark. However, by that point, I had many abilities that could let me see in the dark. One couldn’t be a dungeon diver without good night vision.
“Obviously.” She responded; her voice seemingly tinged with anger.
I cleared my throat. “I just meant, why were you up near the Abyss in the rabbitkin territory?”
“That’s my own business!” She responded, her eyes glaring at me from under her hood.
In the dark, her eyes seemed to absorb all of the light, causing them to glow a bit. Even after helping her, she hadn’t become any more polite. If she had spoken to the other girls this way, it wasn’t surprising why they had given up trying to engage with her. Even when the girls were mean to each other, it was usually done with an ounce of playfulness and comradery. Rea just felt hostile.
“I need to know where to take you if we’re going to get you home.” I tried to get her to open up a different way.
“Home?” I couldn’t see anything but those glowing eyes, but they narrowed a bit. “I have no home.”
I nodded slowly. I wasn’t sure why I was expecting such an answer, but it seemed pretty obvious given her behavior before.
“You could… come to Chalm and live with us?” I offered. ‘I’d find you a place.”
She stared ahead silently for a bit, but just before I spoke again, she turned to me. “W-would you?”
“Of course.” I nodded, feeling just a bit hopeful that I was getting through to her a little.
She turned to me even more, a big smile on her face that didn’t feel natural. “Would you keep me safe?”
“I mean, Chalm is a safe place to be.” Even I felt awkward saying that, given everything that city went through in only a year.
“Would you protect me, with your body?” She leaned a bit closer.
“Yes,” I answered, although I felt something was off.
Her hand came out and landed on my leg. “And, would you want my body?”
“Rea…”
“Can I be your slave?” her hand started to move up my leg.
“What are you trying to ask?”
“I’m just asking a simple question. Will I be a toy for you to play with like all of the other girls?”
She raised, her eyes closing, and her mouth heading for my own. Her hand was near to a certain spot. I reached out and grabbed her by her shoulders, stopping her dead. Her eyes opened, and then she jumped slightly in my grip when she saw the severe expression on my face.
“None of the girls are my toys,” I responded, this time, my voice filled with some anger. “If you think I’m just messing around, then you don’t know a thing about me.”
Her shock lasted a few seconds, and then she shook her head, trying to shake my grip. When I held onto her, she suddenly lunged and bit my hand. It didn’t hurt, but I was surprised, so I let go of her. She immediately backed up, her smile gone and her eyes returning to that angry, hateful expression.
“Have things your way.” She growled before spinning around and scampering away into the ship.
Just what was with this girl?
Raissa 2.0?
