What happened to mc calling all his slaves together so he could reorganise everyone dungeon points? He could now give and take dp from his slaves, so he should at least give everyone basics like portal which is a must have. Some if his slaves didnt get dp with him when he completed dungeon i think eg first
See, even when I give you levels, now you want bloody Dp breakdowns and store references. XD. Right now, he would NOT be handing out DP, because he’s trying to save it to use on a planetary scale. Quite the opposite, he might collect it all from them, which I implied he has already satarted to see all of their DP as a single pool anyway. As for Portal, I don’t see it being needed at all. Their Portal can’t cut through dungeons since they don’t have a higher spatial law he has from his blessing. Anything the enemy had could block them. Plus, the don’t have the advantage of map either, which makes using portal much harder to do. Forgetting people like Terra and Celeste can move at speeds that make portal almost meaningless, I mean, they did cross half of Aberis in a few hours by just running, and that was keeping up with the slowest girl (Miki). Point being, they’re a bit beyond Dp gimicks. They have powerful LVL 100 spells eual to anything the store could unlock. Perhaps the only things they’d find useful would be the experience boosters and learning helpers. Plus… and I can’t stress this enough, they are talking about invading other worlds, where DP and any benefits from the dungeon store would be negated!
But if you don’t provide numbers we can’t call you out on numbers 😛
the thing is, if you don’t want people complaining about not knowing stats, you have to actually give their stats to the readers regularly, but you’re already stated that this makes it hard to be consistent because the leveling system you’ve created has such a crazy high number of skills, especially with mc having so many jobs. you could just as easily have created a much simpler system where each job has fewer skills and levels mostly provide strength to those skills. say if they had only gained a new skill every 5 levels instead of every level. then that’s only 20 skills per job and a lot easier to keep track of. even that is a lot though. in fairness the only person we see use lots of skills is MC. i’ve only ever seen celeste use haste, wind blades, and generic wind control, i’m pretty sure lydia has only ever used x-slash, terra just uses generic earth control. you only ever state a skill specifically when you back the characters into a corner and seemingly can’t come up with a reasonable way for them to win with what they already have so you have someone use a skill that they ‘already had’ that you’ve never mentioned before, which kind of cheapens the victory a bit. I’m still enjoying the story you’ve written, but i think there are plenty of ways to improve the power system so it doesn’t feel quite so convoluted or gimmicky as you’ve put it. If you look at a story like ‘otherworld conquest of a reincarnated porter’ the power system revolves around jobs and skills just like yours, except the skills and jobs are detached from each other. jobs give certain proficiencies and stat boosts, but all skills are learned, allowing the author let the mc level at an extraordinary rate, while still introducing new skills at a more reasonable pace so that readers don’t get lost or confused about what the mc is actually capable of. considering the fact that in your story, jobs are actually lore and thus must inherently be connected to skills, you can’t quite separate them like that, but you could choose not to tie skill unlocks to levels but rather give them more generic skills like ‘wind control’ or ‘body enhancement’ every 5 or ten levels, and then let the characters figure out how to master and combine these skills along the way to allow them to perform more complex actions. that would actually amplify the feeling of character’s competency as they master their jobs, and prevent this feeling of missing out whenever you don’t drop stats and remind everyone what skills the characters have. at that point you could just give readers level stats and that would give the reader a rough idea of their strength without having to list 500 skills that you have to maintain consistency with. I’m not the author though, and the story is already written. It’s been a great ride so far and I thank you for the enjoyment you’ve provided with it, just dropping my 2 cents on the power system
