This story seems to be going nowhere
Where do you think it should go? Most stories I tend to write with the long hall in mind. I could have given him every girl and had sex by chapter 2… but then there would be no story. That’s why it’s a slow burn. That said, he literally learned about why everyone hates him… that’s a pretty big point for the story. It’s clearly going somewhere… which is to explore the relationships and past of the women and MC while he slowly experiences more of his sexuality. If you want a story with a more streamlined plot, I have plenty of those, this just isn’t one of them.
Coitus Exchange was 27 chapters and it was peak story having constant progress throughout. Oops I Banged My Bully’s Mom is a lot of sexting for such a straightforward title. Also I even think you feel it’s too slow a burn since how long has it been since the first chapter came out to this one?
Coitus Exchange was a short story written to be a short story. In fact, it was all paid for up front by someone who wanted that story written and the size was dictated more by cost per chapter than anything. Although they might have similar elements (no supernatural, modern world, harem), they were written as completely different beasts.
Coitus Exchange is like Kindred Paradise or Master and Dragon, intended to be short, simple novel. Oops is a series, like Getting Lucky. It’s open ended and intended to be 100+ chapters. They were just written with completely different goals in mind.
I personally really like the slow burn relaitonships, where he slowly grows his sexuality, rather than the usual “in love within two chapters instant sex god.” stuff. Then again, I’m writing, so I’m probably biased.
Edit: I also wanted to mention I think you have some misunderstandings here. Oops! I Banged My Mom is probably one of my most recent titles? You speak of the distance between the first chapter and the current… when almost every other novel I’m still writing is older and has a longer gap. Stories like Coitus are an exception because as I stated, they were paid for up front… and even then some take 2-3 years to finish, just ask the people who hired me! Also, Automatic GF isn’t much further than this… and it’s chapters are half the size.
This entire site was redone last year, so no post is older than that date… but some stories like Rise of the Midnight King are 5-6 years older than this story. The only reason this story is getting written is because it keeps winning Premium Polls, so if people didn’t want it, they wouldn’t vote for it.
The only reason it’s not on the schedule is because other novels took priority. This is actually one of my favorite novels to write at the moment, personally, but if people weren’t voting for it in the polls, it probably wouldn’t be getting chapters.
