“Where are we?” You ask, looking around the void of blackness.
“Hmm? Ah, we’re nowhere.”
“Nowhere? What is that supposed to mean?” “Well, this is the point in the story where we were going to go on an adventure through the website, machinslicedbread. We were going to appear in other stories, interact with said beloved characters, before eventually ending up right back here. It would have been a good time.”
“And?”
“Well, you’re reading the book, aren’t you? That doesn’t translate very well to the eBook. Suffice it to say those links aren’t there anymore.”
“I see…” You mutter. “But if you went so far to rewrite this chapter just so it fits better with this medium, then why in our previous conversation did you keep acting like we were in a webnovel!”
“Oh… great, more criticism. That’s what I wanted to hear in our battle to the death! I was like… you know what this battle could use? More senseless whining. And you know what else?”
“I have a feeling you’re going to tell me whether I want it or not.”
“It’s been nearly a freaking year since this battle ended.”
“What?”
“You heard me, this eBook was finished over a year after the end of PoC!”
“It took you a year to finish the eBooks? Damn, what were you doing?”
“Oh, more complaining, you’d think I’d grow used to it over the last year, but strangely your voice has only grown more irritating.”
“Technically, I don’t have a voice.”
“I really hate you.” I took a breath. “Well, it doesn’t matter. I’ve been doing good for the last year, while, for you, nothing has changed. Well, presumably a year has passed for the reader, but you the character were always just here, waiting, trapped in limbo. I didn’t even bother to move you to my new website. Oh, did you know, I have a website now.”
“I know… you advertise it all over these books.” “Ah, I guess there isn’t much else to say-“
“Will you quit wasting my time to fill a wordcount?”
“This is the seventh volume, I’m pretty much tapped out on this…”
“Stop it, just tell me what I want to know! What happened to my girls? We’re just hovering in darkness here.”
“Ah! Have we finally caught up? Well, you know what happened. This universe shattered. Your girls are no more.”

“Relax… the pair of us are at odds with each other, both trying to gain control of this reality. Once I kill you, I can restore the reality as easily as snapping a finger.”
“And what if I kill you?”
“Hahaha… oh, you’re not joking. Well, it won’t be what you expect. I guess you’ll just have to discover a way to kill me to find out?” I lift my sword. “So, where were we?”
“I was about to kill you!” You declare, swinging pig fucker down.
“I could say the same!” I shot back.
The pair of us collide as ripples of explosions shoot off into the universe. The intensity of the battle starts to grow as it becomes do or die!
