World of Women - World of Women – V4 – Chapter 29
Charlie finally pulled away from me. The wound had sealed now, but I still felt extremely weak. I had lost a lot of blood, and I felt somewhat dizzy as well.
“Isn’t it time you left?” Charlie asked, staring at her look-alike still stuck to the throne.
It would only be a few moments until Jenji finished absorbing the power of the Demon Lord. I wasn’t sure how much my blood would destroy, but if she was as powerful as Charlie, there was little chance I’d be able to get away once she was freed. Then again, how powerful were either of them? What were they? I only just realized Charlie had been speaking to me. I stood up quickly, feeling for the teleport rune I made. This should take me to the spot near our car. However, there were still the girls I’d be leaving behind.
“The girls are fine,” Charlie said, her eyes not leaving Jenji. “You have to return to Amaryllis now. They will need you.”
“Wait… what are you going to do?”
“Sister never should have gotten involved. Now, I will need to interfere directly,” Charlie declared.
The other girl grinned. “I’m more powerful than you. Do you think you can survive?”
She turned away from her sister and looked at me, smiling. “I don’t regret bringing you here. But if I don’t stop her, she’ll be going for your progeny next.”
The way she spoke, there was a sense of finality to it. Her eyes seemed to convey a sense of regret and loss that started to confuse me. I took a step toward her, planning to take her with me.
“You didn’t bring me here. I came here on my own,” I insisted, trying to make sense of events that I felt were changing too fast.
“I meant here. To this world.”
Jenji had previously mentioned something like that, but finally hearing it from her mouth struck me harder. This little girl had been the one to bring me to this world? No, I was brought to this world! I wanted to ask some questions about that. Why me? What was I supposed to do? What was the reason? How? I knew that I wasn’t going to ever hear the answers to those questions. Some of them I could already guess. Be fruitful and multiply. That was the only task I ever had in this world. It was the same task every man had. I was just one of the few who rejected it.
“Charlie… come with me,” I insisted. “Don’t you remember? I’m your husband!”
Her sad smile grew slightly. “I can’t. I may not be able to stop my sister, but I can delay her… delay her long enough that it will already be too late.”
“You think too highly of this man!” Jenji snarled.
Charlie ignored her, stepping up toward me until she was looking up at me. That sad smile seemed to be burning itself into my mind. The world seemed to become exceptionally vivid.
“My place is here. Your place is with the other men. A disaster is about to befall Amaryllis, and only you can stop it. If you think that getting this inheritance was her only plan, you’re wrong. Soon, the demons will walk this earth again, and unless you stop it, then all of humanity will fall.”
Up until now, I dreaded seeing her again. Every time she appeared, bad things happened, and I wasn’t even sure if I could trust her. Suddenly, I didn’t want her to go. I was afraid she would disappear.
“W-will I see you again?” I asked.
“Maybe… one last time, in the end.”
I found myself kneeling and hugging her. She seemed startled at first, but then, she put her arms around me, holding me affectionately. It felt a bit like the first time I had met her, during those short few days where she played around on the boat with me.
“Now, go!”
I tried to pull up, but she grabbed my collar, and then her lips pressed to mine. She pulled away nearly as fast as she started. It was at this moment the darkness around Jenji finally dissipated.
“Charlie.”
“Goodbye… hubby.” She pushed the rune in my hand.
I didn’t feel her channel any mana, but the rune exploded with white light. I cried out, but the transportation spell took hold before I could do a thing. The last thing I saw was Charlie’s smiling, tear-stained face before the room disappeared. I stumbled forward, only catching air. It was the middle of the night now, and I was standing in a clearing, only a few meters away from where the car was hidden.
“Clyburn?”
I spun around only for someone to slam into me. I was hugged tightly, but it was not by one of the girls, I expected. Cornelia had her arms around me, squeezing me tightly. I looked around, checking on Brooke, Lilith, and Mia. They were all out of it safely. They all had relieved looks on their faces as they made me out.
“You made it.” Brooke sighed.
“I used the transportation spell,” I said. “Wait, how did you guys escape.”
“Hmph! Do you think the powerful Lilith will be held by such a measly trick?” Lilith declared in a grandiose manner.
“A little girl helped us out of the cell. We didn’t want to go, but she said that you already escaped and were waiting for us. We only just got here when you appeared,” Mia explained.
“A little girl? Was that who freed us?” Brooke cocked her head.
“Huh… yeah… it was… well… it was someone…” Mia started to look confused as well.
“Don’t worry about it.” I shook my head, trying to keep strong. “I’m just glad you all managed to get out of there on your own.”
“Nevermind us!” Lilith took a step forward. “What happened to the inheritance?”
I looked down bitterly. “She… she got it.”
“Damn it.” Lilith stomped her foot angrily.
“I… um… put some of my blood in her. It destroyed a good bit of the inheritance. I’m not sure how strong she is now.”
Stronger than her sister, that was for sure. Were they fighting right now? Was the Demon Lord’s castle still collapsing? Were the military guards running around like their head was just cut off? I had no clue. I expected to be hearing lighting strikes in the distance followed by gusts of wind. Unfortunately, the night was completely silent. There was no evidence that a demon lord castle was only an hour’s walk away, and what were presumably some kinds of supernatural beings now in a fight to the death.
It was a fight Charlie wasn’t going to win. She seemed to know that going in. However, she also seemed confident she’d be able to keep Jenji busy. I didn’t know what that meant. I didn’t know what any of it meant. If Charlie was truly going to die, then when she said we might meet again before the end would have been a lie. I didn’t feel like she was lying though. I realized my mind was just spinning around in circles without end.
“Then, since the inheritance is gone, then we should leave as well,” Lilith declared.
‘Wh-what?” Mia, who was just about to grab my arm, spun back. “B-but… since we’re here, can’t we stay with Clyburn?”
“The government caught me. They know who I am,” Lilith explained. “They’ll be looking for me now. I can’t stay here and expect to be safe.”
“They’re looking for us just as much.” Cornelia finally let go of me and took a step back. “What are we going to do?”
“I’ve secured a place outside of town,” Brooke said. “We can hide out…”
“No.” I shook my head. “We need to go back to Amaryllis.”
Everyone’s eyes turned to me, and Brooke in particular looked angry. “Go back? Do you know how much trouble it was just getting you out of there?”
“Charlie… ahem… I heard from the leader of the WRA that there is some plan they are going to initiate soon.”
Brooke looked at me in disbelief. “Look, Clyburn. Hannah, Lyra, and the rest gave a lot to make sure you didn’t get involved in this. They tasked me with making sure you stayed safe and out of it. You’re too valuable to go in there. Let the women take the risks.”
“Their lives are just as valuable as mine,” I insisted, although after hearing what Charlie had said, I struggled to convince even myself.
“You don’t even know what the threat is,” Cornelia added. “If the WRA is going to pull off something like they did on the day or WRATH, then you’ll want to be as far away from it as possible! Most of the other men will be safe in the male district. They’ve made that place a literal island. They may be abused and suppressed, but I don’t see them being able to hurt or kill them. As for you, you’re vulnerable. All you have is us protecting you.”
“What did you say?” I perked up, staring at her.
Cornelia blushed. “I mean it. You have me, Clyburn. I’ve decided now. I’ll be with you until the end.”
“No, before that.” The redness of her face changed as she glared, but I ignored her. “You said a literal island.”
“Yeah, I mean, no one can go in or out except through special means, and we were already under the place. It is a floating island that was never launched and allowed to get buried, just like the Demon Lord’s castle.”
I grabbed Cornelia’s cheeks, causing her shade of red to change once again. “You’re… a genius!”
I kissed her on the lips, just a quick peck. Brooke had an eyebrow raised, and Mia was pouting, clearly having wanted to be kissed and praised too. Cornelia looked slightly dazed.
“What is it?” Brooke finally asked.
“We need to go back immediately.”
“Clyburn, I already said…”
“They’re going to kill all the men in Amaryllis,” I declared.
All of the girls froze, staring at me in silence like I had just grown horns.
“You don’t know that,” Lilith spoke up.
“The island. I was wondering why they decided to put the male district on that island.”
“It was a poor part of town. There was no other reason than that the property value was cheap.”
“No.” I shook my head. “There was another reason. Think about it. Those underground passages allow people to move around the island. It makes the place vulnerable and harder to watch. Someone in city planning had to know they were there. If they knew they were there, and they were tasked with making the male district completely untouchable, they wouldn’t put it in a vulnerable place. At that point, they could have built it outside the city.”
Brooke looked at the other girls, shaking her head with her mouth open, and then threw up her hands. “Alright, I’ll bite. Why did they choose to build it there?”
“Because… it’s not an island. It’s an altar!” I declared. “That’s what attracted Rebecca to that place.”
“An… altar?”
“A sacrifice. A sacrificial circle. All they need to do is activate it, and they can open a portal to allow demons into this world!”
“Another demon summoning?” Lilith frowned, finally looking interested. “The only way to power a circle that size is with a lot of sacrifices. They would need to kill a ton of people. It wouldn’t be the men… they need the men to accept the demon souls, so where are they getting the sacrifices?”
“The rest of Amaryllis.” Brooke gasped. “The whole city… or at least part of the city.”
“They wouldn’t go that far.” Cornelia shook her head. “Wait… what’s near the district, but outside the island?”
“Um… a couple of factories. A few stores…” Mia tried to recall.
“The prison,” I added quietly.
All of the girls turned to me.
“It… it always was uncomfortably close to the male district. I had always thought it was because they were pairing prisoners with unruly men…” Cornelia shook her head.
“Hannah… Mother…” I started walking straight to the car.
“W-wait! Clyburn!” Brooke followed me. “I agree with you, this is big. However, I can send a message through the proper channels. We don’t know when they plan to do this. It might be a week from now or even a month!”
“They’re doing it tonight.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I do!” I shot back.
“What if you’re wrong and you go there for no reason?”
“What if I’m right, and I’m not there?”
She bit her lip and looked away, an irritated expression on her face.
“Brooke, I’m going, with or without any of you. If you think you can stop me-“
“Hmmm…” She sighed. “The one thing that I’ve never been able to do is stop you from being an idiot.”
“We need a plan then.” Lilith opened the door and got into the car from the other side.
“Oh, Lilith… you’re coming?” Brooke asked awkwardly.
Lilith puffed out her chest defiantly. “Why can’t I come? If Clyburn is going to risk his life, then I have every right! I will be able to help out far more than he can, and if this is an issue involving demons, and particularly demons being summoned, then it is my duty to be there!”
I felt a bit awkward hearing her belittle my usefulness, but I had mostly grown used to that tone with her from years past. She seemed particularly stoic and unchanging, especially since she failed to claim the third inheritance.
“No…” Brooke coughed. “Um… I mean… if you and Mia are coming along… my care only seats four. There are five of us in all.”
“Wh-what? Ah! That’s right?”
“Lilith! You’re the lightest, so you’ll have to sit on someone’s lap!” Brooke declared.
Sometime later, we all found a seat in the car and were returning to Amaryllis, just as I wanted. However, I did wonder why I had to be the one who had Lilith on their lap.
“Clyburn.”
“It’ll be Clyburn.”
“I’m not heavy! I can sit on anyone’s lap!” Lilith cried out.
Yet, despite objections, she ended up in my lap anyway. She sat there with her arms crossed, and an unhappy expression on her face. Usually, when a girl sat in my lap, I’d wrap my arms around her. However, if I did that to Lilith, she would make me pay. Thus, I had to keep having to stop myself from bringing my hands out awkwardly and stopping at the same time. This caused me to fidget a bit. This wasn’t made any better by Lilith herself, who also started fidgeting.
She would keep shifting her butt, and although it was a tiny thing, it ground against my lap in a way that reminded me I hadn’t had sex in quite some time. I tried to ignore her pleasing scent and body. She wasn’t a loli, per se, but she was very small and sometimes acted childlike, so I had never shown much interest in her. This was doubly true because of her arrogant and abrasive personality.
“Will you stop?” She snapped at me.
“You’re the one who keeps moving!”
“That’s because you’re so hard!”
“Clyburn! What are you doing to Lilith!” Mia cried out. “If you wanted to do those things… th-then I would have sat on your lap…”
That last part came out shyly. It had been a long time since we had been together, and suddenly bringing it up now and reminding me of our previous sex sessions did not help keep me under control at all!
“Unbelievable.” Cornelia shook her head.
“What?” I demanded.
“It seems that I had miscast your type. Most boys tend to favor women that resemble their mother. I assumed you liked dark-haired, busty women. My selections were always geared toward such figures with large breasts. Had I known you favored… smaller assets, I would have approached things from a different angle!”
“What small assets!” Lilith turned red. “I’ll have you know, my body is very desirable!”
“That’s not a good thing Lilith! Behind you isn’t just a man, it’s Clyburn!” Brooke warned.
“What is that supposed to mean?” I demanded.
“Oh… she’s right…” Mia tapped her lips. “I should have considered the Clyburn dilemma when we let her sit on his lap.”
“Wh-what C-clyburn dilemma?” The seemingly gullible Lilith asked.
“Yeah! What Clyburn dilemma!” I also demanded.
“It’s a concern of your women,” Mia shot at me. “Nothing you need to worry about.”
“Are you all talking about me?”
“What is it! What?” Lilith asked, looking afraid.
“It’s just that Clyburn’s penis finds away of… ending up inside women, in cases like this,” Brooke declared.
“Ah! N-no!”
“Oh! Come on! That’s not fair! One time! I accidentally penetrated you one time in a bathroom!”
“You had sex with Brooke?” Mia cried out.
“L-lesbians too?” Cornelia’s eyes widened. “Is there anyone Clyburn won’t stick his dick in?”
“I’m not answering that!” I cried.
“I-I’m a virgin! I can’t have his penis get inside me!” Lilith started struggling more, which only rubbed her ass against it more.
“I’m not! I mean, we’re not going to have sex!” I tried to ensure her.
“Damn it! I knew I should have worn panties today!” Lilith cried out.
“Wh-what? Why aren’t you wearing panties?”
“It was Mia’s fault! She forgot to do the laundry!”
“Me! I’m wearing my panties! Why am I always responsible for making sure your panties are on! I swear you’d walk around naked if it wasn’t for me!” Mia shot back. “Pull over! I’m taking off my panties and I’ll sit on Clyburn’s lap.”
“Why do your panties need to be off to sit on Clyburn’s lap?” Cornelia asked.
“What… I mean… well… you know… to… pass the time?”
“Ah!” Lilith squeaked. “I can feel it! It’s getting bigger!”
“That’s because all of you are talking about taking off your panties!” I responded defensively.
“I don’t want to be pregnant! Save me! Save me!” Lilith started kicking and fighting as I poked her in the butt, the stimulation combining with Mia’s sexy words making it impossible to soften again. “Pull over! Pull over!”
“You better not cum in Lilith. Cum in me instead!” Mia begged.
“I’m not trying to cum at all!”
“Shut up! All of you! No one is pulling over, and no one is cumming!” Brooke screamed.
Suffice it to say, the ride back to the city started off extremely colorful and went by swiftly. It wouldn’t be long before we’d see the lights of the city and the signature floating islands in the distance.
